Pharrell Gets Tattoos Removed

Pharrell Williams, the lead singer of N.E.R.D., is no longer enamored with his tattoos and the artist has started to have his body art removed.

The rapper recently underwent laser surgery to have the tattoos burned out if his skin.

Pharrell recently posted a picture of his bandaged arms after the surgery took place.

“Laser treatment b**ches! Extra crispy. See, no skin graft here, just pure laser pain,” Pharrell said. “This is our own version of Mythbusters! Laser is the new primer.”

Initially, Williams stated that he was going to attempt to cultivate new skin cells and graft the new tissue over his tattoos.

In early 2008, he said, “”It’s going to be pricey, but f**k it, it’s worth it. I got fire on my arms! I’m a grown man! There’s an institute called the Wake Forest Institute in North Carolina for Regenerative Skin Treatment. It’s basically like getting a skin graft, but you’re not taking skin from your ass or your legs. These guys actually grow the skin for you.”

Daily Rant: Somebody Book De La Soul

I’m a little upset today.  Toronto was promised a sun kissed day and we got a sun kissed morning followed by a soul soaking of a natural shower!  To make matters worse I just found out that one of my favorite groups of all time De La Soul is celebrating their 20th anniversary with an international tour and guess which country is not on the list.

Alas, all is not lost.  Mr. Teddy Riley, R&B producer legend is bringing back new material from both of his legendary R&B groups Guy and Blackstreet!  Now that is a movement, reuniting both of your former successful groups.

THE LEAST & MOST STOLEN CARS OF 2008

Could Michelle Obama Be The New Claire Huxtable?

Ok, this sucks.   I cleared my schedule for the day that started with beautiful sunshine and warm weather only to have afternoon overcast and rain, blah.  There is good news though, my free time (coveted because it is so rare) prompted me to write another Daily Rant.

Those who know me well, know that I loved the Cosby’s and pretty much love Felicia Rashad, famously known as Claire Huxtable.  The family was and is a perfect model for many to follow as an example of class and family etiquette at its best (the best that could be portrayed by 80′s prime time TV).  I just finish watching CNN and their coverage of Michelle Obama addressing a group of staff at the White House and her poise and sweater game threw me back to Claire (I still love you and our love child Rudy lol).

Could the Obama’s be the Cosby’s of our time? Does this mean that the Rebublican party stature is closest represented by Archie Bunker, a relic spouting off ignorance and negativity to such a degree it becomes laughable?

Which couple or family would you say carry the message and example of the The Cosby show in real life today?

Jamie Foxx Is Working on Movie Debut for Wanda

Jamie Foxx has plans for one his most popular characters Wanda.  According to Moviefone.com the singer/actor is in talks to reprise his role as the outrageous party girl Wanda for an upcoming movie.

“I would do that in a minute! That would be great. We’re actually looking into something like that.  With that character specifically,” said Foxx, who would love to bring Wanda back.”

My abs are already getting ready for the jokes, now all we need is a Fire Marshal Bill movie and I am good.  Wait! Add a Homey Da Clown big screen debut as well.

Jackie Chan Unintentionally Becomes China’s Top Racist

Jackie Chan may be a lot of things to a lot of people, but the word ‘racist’ doesn’t seem come to mind when talking about the action star. Unless you ask Albert Ho, a lawmaker in Hong Kong, who is upset over recent comments Chan made about the prospect of a free democratic society for Chinese people at a business forum in the southern Chinese province of Hainan.  Although he is popular in his native country, The Associated Press reports the entertainer is doubtful that a free China is best for the people.

“I’m not sure if it’s good to have freedom or not,” said Chan. “I’m gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we’re not being controlled, we’ll just do what we want.”

Despite the actor’s rep saying Chan’s remarks referred to freedom in the entertainment industry and not Chinese society at large, the comments have triggered a backlash among Hong Kong and Taiwan lawmaker and residents.

On Monday, a group of Chinese scholars published a letter on the Internet accusing Chan of “not understanding how precious freedom is,” even though “free Hong Kong provided the conditions for you to become an international action star.” Facebook has also gotten into the act with a growing group of Hong Kong users calling for Chan to be exiled to North Korea while posting form letters urging Hong Kong’s Baptist University and Academy for Performing Arts to strip Chan of honorary degrees they gave the actor. As of Tuesday (April 21), the group had more than 2,600 members.

Talk about having the worst week ever. From being one of the most popular people in your native land to being the least liked. Jackie may need to catch the rush hour in a different place if he doesn’t squash this soon. I’d hate for him to become a real-life drunken master from all the drama.
