Now that Jay-Z’s bought the rights to his next album due to Island/Def Jam, it’s been reported that Hov’ is close to signing a deal with Sony.
According to Billboard, the deal, which will link Jay-Z’s Roc Nation releases with Sony’s Epic Records for distribution, “is 95% complete,” according to people familiar with the negotiations. A formal announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
“He definitely didn’t want to release his album via Def Jam,” said a Universal Music source. “And given his close relationship with (Sony executive and producer) Rick Rubin, it comes as no surprise that he’d make the switch.”
Sony Corp CEO Howard Stringer and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation partner Jay Brown have been spotted meeting in Los Angeles and New York; Epic Records president Amanda Ghost is managed by Roc Nation and Brown; and Jay-Z’s wife, Beyonce, is an artist on Sony’s Columbia Records label

Today is the day of my Carlsberg party at Brant House. Come party with a boss and share some premium green bottle goodness. Its not everyday that an international corporation is in tune with a street level movement, even if its headed by a renassaince rap artist dripping of International Swagg. Yea, I’m that nice
. If you want to come party for FREE just show up before 10pm and say your on the “Carlsberg’s Best Mate” guest list. SEE YOU THERE!

Aight this is my sh*t right now LOL. I was resisting purchasing Ricky Ross, the C.O. boss but his new single is too much. His arguement is strong, his music is dope. Still don’t cosign the lying but this is serious rotation in the Lincoln!
For the record, the album is a dope offering in a time when music is lacking in quality, making Ross’s lying ass a must in these times. The dude did his thing.
JAY-Z “NO AUTOTUNE”

I am hearing that Jay-Z is going all out. Yep. The word is that he’s got a song literally called “No Autotune” and the song is basically waging war against the technological device. The song is supposedly produced by NO ID and is indicative of the whole album, The Blueprint 3. Yes, it would see that Jay-Z is looking to go against the grain with this one. But did he boot Kanye West from the album? I had a rumor on that a ways back, but I don’t know. I know that a source of mine stated that Jay was slighting Kanye on this one with the “No Autotune,” but my gut says Jay wouldn’t diss Yeezy.

T.I. is now in jail, but he’s not going out without a fight. The rapper actually won’t have too many fights in his minimum-security jail. But the rapper has taken steps to make sure we don’t forget him. First of all, he has recorded a mixtape that will be released in the future. Also, it is being said that he recorded about five music videos for distribution while he is away. This will make its seem like he’s not away. The mixtape is called “A Year And A Day” and it features Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, and Kanye West, among others. Also, Tip and Tiny got married and she got a show. From what I understand they are putting out a reality show surrounding Tiny’s life and times. COOL.

For nearly three months, R&B singer Chris Brown has been keeping a very low profile, keeping public appearances and performances to a minimum.
On Tuesday night (May 26), Brown, who celebrated his 20th birthday earlier this month, made direct contact with his fans globally for the first time since he allegedly attacked then girlfriend Rihanna in early February.
During a bowling game, Brown revealed that he is currently working on a new album entitled Graffiti, and while he didn’t provide a release date for the project, he announced that the first single will be released this summer.
Brown went on to indirectly address the pre-Grammy altercation that has, for many, forever changed his public image.
“We ain’t going nowhere,” he stated. “Everybody that’s hating, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love y’all. I ain’t a monster.”
On Wednesday, rapper Bow Wow announced his support of Brown, who he says is like “his brother.”
Following a live phone call, prompted by view requests, Bow Wow made it clear that their friendship had not been affected by the recent events.
“That’s my best friend, I hold him down,” said the Atlanta-based former child star. “He good with me. F**k what a hater got to say. Ain’t nobody f**kin’ with that boy, man.”
Chris Brown is due in court on Thursday (May 28), where he will face one count of felony assault and one count of making criminal threats.
During his April 6 arraignment, Brown plead not guilty to both charges.
