WORLD’S THINNEST LCD TV UNVEILED

LG has taken another bold step toward positioning itself as the major force in the flat screen market with their new, ultra slim 42 inch and 47 inch models.

Employing LG Display’s edge-lit LED (Light Emitting Diode) backlight system — opposed to the more common CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) — these 42- and 47-inch LCD panels are just 5.9mm thick — or about one-fifth of an inch.

What’s more, these 42- and 47-inch LCD TVs weigh just 6.1kg (13.4 pounds) and 7.3kg (16.1 pounds), respectively, which is about 50 percent lighter than a comparable size CCFL-backlit LCD TV.

These 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) TVs feature 120Hz technology, with a motion picture response time of 8 milliseconds.

No word yet on if and when these svelte televisions will come to Canada — or for how much.

CARLSBERG PICKS VERSE FOR HIS INTERNATIONAL SWAGGER

Carlsberg and LIFE Records Entertainment Group are in serious talks to sign an international, 4 country promotional deal that will have Verse’s next 3 albums, including this year’s, supported by the Carlsberg brand and international promotional team.  Apparently one of his singles ‘Hard To Breath’ was leaked to someone at Carlsberg along with his new image of international swagger and they were sold.  More on this as it unfolds.  If this is true could it be said that Toronto is becoming the new hotbed for international Hip Hop?!

KANYE DUMPS AMBER FOR CREEPING WITH CASSIDY

Hmmmm, sometimes you hear something and your like, “Nah, that just doesn’t sound right” but here goes:

Apparently Kanye has given the boot to his bald babe Amber Rose. According to Gyant, Amber was trying to get her swerve on with Cassidy – you know the rapper from Philly. Now, this defies my own internal reasoning, but I will finish the rumor. Apparently, she violated while Kanye was out in Hawaii working on the Blueprint 3 album and Rihanna’s upcoming CD. Well, they say she was creeping with Cass on the low and Kanye found out. WOW.

RIHANNA is officially over Chris Brown. The Bajan beauty showed up with a group of friends Monday at Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge on West 42nd Street, but spent most of the night locking lips with Canadian former child actor-turned-rapper Aubrey “Drake” Graham. “She was drinking whiskey and apple juice and making out with him all night,” says a spy. “They were really cute together.” RIHANNA, who’s also been spending time in town with Katy Perry, peeled off with Drake at about midnight.

LIL WAYNE’S NEW BABY MOMMA

A Bossip source says: Lauren and Wayne weren’t happy about the pregnancy initially, but they “have accepted it and chosen to raise the baby together.” Everyone’s all smiles now and very excited about the new baby. Lauren says that she’s “not worried about the pregnancy affecting her career,” and doesn’t really care about what people think.  She’s stayed very positive throughout this entire time. Lauren and Lil Wayne have decided not to live together or continue with their five year “on again, off again” relationship at this time.

PRAY FOR DAME DASH

Pray for Dame Dash, he may be going through a hard time in his life. I heard that his father isn’t faring well and Dame has taken up residence in a hospital near his father so that he can be close to him in his time of need.  Our prayers go out to you brother.
