Jay-Z Endorsed Champagne Ranked #1 In The World

Rapper Jay-Z recently appeared on Angie Martinez’ Hot 97 show, where he revealed the Armand de Brignac (Ace of Spades) champagne he endorses was ranked #1 in the world after taste tests.

The results were published on September 24 in Fine Champagne magazine, the only international publication devoted to champagne.

Each Champagne was rated on a 100-point scale.

The process was so strict that, if judges’ assessments were more than four points apart, the Champagne would be re-tasted and re-assessed.

“I’m feeling really excited right now,” Jay-Z said from Paris as he popped bottles of the drink.

While the list contains many well known brand names, the surprise first-place finisher was Armand de Brignac Brut Gold, with a taste score ranking of No. 1.

The bubbly is now officially ranked the best tasting champagne in the world, topping brands like Dom Perignon and Jay-Z’s arch-rival brand, Roederer Cristal.

Jay-Z stopped endorsing the brand after Cristal CEO Frederic Rouzaud made disparaging comments to The Economist about rappers’ association with the pricey brand.

“To be selected as the best-tasting Champagne in the world is a remarkable achievement, but to receive such an award in a large blind-tasting competition is testimony to the quality of our product,” said Armand de Brignac’s CEO, Jean-Jacques Cattier. “It is a further incentive to continue making the best Champagne in the world for those who are truly passionate about the art of Champagne.”

RAPPER JIN ‘THE MC’ IS A MILLIONAIRE

Remember Jin Da MC? Yeah, the dude that was a member of The Ruff Ryderz crew? DMX? Eve? The Lox? Drag-On? Well, I heard a lil’rumor from a source. We all have been in the know that Jin has become far more in tune with his Christian religious beliefs. Well, I got this like diddy to share too. I heard Jin was also a pure millionaire, even though his rap career hasn’t exactly been legendary – HERE. I heard that Jin took his skills over to China and has recorded several albums that have sold platinum many times over there. I heard the people love him!!! I’m glad for him.

By the way, Jin has some clarification on the notion that he is a Christian rapper. Not exactly, but fairly close.

50 CENT REPLIES TO JAY-Z; CALLS HIM ‘A PUNK’!

Rapper 50 Cent addressed recent comments made by rapper Jay-Z during a radio interview on the BBC last week.

Jay-Z defended rapper Kanye West in an interview conducted by DJ Trevor Nelson’s BBC radio show last week.

Jay-Z became irritated when Nelson suggested that West would not have stormed the stage at the 2009 VMA’s, had 50 Centbeen an accepting an award instead of country singer Taylor Swift.

“It wasn’t 50 Cent [who made the comments],” 50 told Angie Martinez. “Hip-Hop has cool punk and Jay is the coolest punk in Hip-Hop.  He’s big.  And his take on it is [he’s] bigger than the art form and he won’t actually compete.  Battling has been a part of the culture.”

“I think he would have done that if that was 50 Cent,” Jay-Z also told Nelson. “No one is scared of 50 Cent. I want everyone to be clear. No one is scared of 50 Cent.”

Although 50 Cent went on to say that he did not have any problems with Jay-Z, he firmly stated that no one would storm his stage if put in the same situation.

“When he [Jay-Z] has to say no one is scared of 50 Cent, it’s because the public is responding to his punk presentation,” 50 Cent said. “Kanye wouldn’t take the trophy from me and neither would Jay-Z.”

The rapper took numerous shots at Kanye West during the interview, implying that Chicago emcee could be homosexual, due to his association with Lady GaGa’s upcoming “Fame Kills Tours.”

50 also revealed that Shady Records boss Eminem is not happy with the track “Forever,” which features Drake, Kanye West and Lil Wayne.

“I don’t think Em knew everyone was going to be on the record,” 50 Cent said. “Initially I think he just did a verse with it. He mixed his records and then they remixed it. I don’t think he’s happy with that at all.”

50 Cent is currently preparing for his upcoming Thisis50 Festival, which takes place October 3 at The Beach on Governors Island.

The rapper said he will debut new music from his upcoming album Before I Self Destruct during the festival this weekend.

50 CENT HILARIOUSLY DISSES FAT JOE …. AGAIN!

I swear 50 Cent is the worst thing you could possibly want to encounter in HipHop; a bully with a sense of humor.  I’m feeling what I have heard from Fat Joe but I have to admit 50 is cracking me up!  I think he found a new lane after Pimpin’ Curly.

Real talk, is 50 going to go after Jay, he has done more to offend 50 then anyone recently.

RAEKWON TALKS ABOUT THE METHOD MAN/GHOSTFACE/RAEKWON ALBUM!

Rae talks about where to put the upcoming Meth/Ghost/Rae album, there are rumors that the trio album will be put out on Def Jam. But Rae makes the fantastic point that….. “If I can drop Cuban Linx [2, on Ice H2O/EMI] and I can own that, why we can’t own…our s–t? But that’s another story…but I’m put against the wall, and the fans want this, I have to be quiet and just let it play out…if the people is excited, I have to be involved because the people help me take care of my family….but you been in the business, a long time, you should be in charge of that…I never had the chance to talk to my brothers about it, because we all going in different directions…when it’s official…that’s when we reach an understanding.”

The recently divorced Al Sharpton is now reportedly dating the recently divorced Lisa Raye.  Man this has got to be the oddest odd couple I have seen in years.  That being said all I want to hear out of Chicago is how their going to set those kids straight.  What happened to Darrien Albert was disgusting and shows that morals are not being passed on to some of the kids in America’s worst ghettos – TRAGIC.

PROTOTYPE NOKIA CHARGED WITH NO WIRES

Pardon the cliche, but it’s one of the holiest of Holy Grails of technology: Wireless power. And while early lab experiments have been able to “beam” electricity a few feet to power a light bulb, the day when our laptops and cell phones can charge without having to plug them in to a wall socket still seems decades in the future.

Nokia, however, has taken another baby step in that direction with the invention of a cell phone that recharges itself using a unique system: It harvests ambient radio waves from the air, and turns that energy into usable power. Enough, at least, to keep a cell phone from running out of juice.

While “traditional” (if there is such a thing) wireless power systems are specifically designed with a transmitter and receiver in mind, Nokia’s system isn’t finicky about where it gets its wireless waves. TV, radio, other mobile phone systems — all of this stuff just bounces around the air and most of it is wasted, absorbed into the environment or scattered into the ether. Nokia picks up all the bits and pieces of these waves and uses the collected electromagnetic energy to create electrical current, then uses that to recharge the phone’s battery. A huge range of frequencies can be utilized by the system (there’s no other way, really, as the energy in any given wave is infinitesimal). It’s the same idea that Tesla was exploring 100 years ago, just on a tiny scale.

Mind you, harvesting ambient electromagnetic energy is never going to offer enough electricity to power your whole house or office, but it just might be enough to keep a cell phone alive and kicking. Currently Nokia is able to harvest all of 5 milliwatts from the air; the goal is to increase that to 20 milliwatts in the short term and 50 milliwatts down the line. That wouldn’t be enough to keep the phone alive during an active call, but would be enough to slowly recharge the cell phone battery while it’s in standby mode, theoretically offering infinite power — provided you’re not stuck deep underground where radio waves can’t penetrate.

Nokia says it hopes to commercialize the technology in three to five years.
