MY NEW TOY!
I had a dream that was as vivid as Martin’s but far more shallow (Not that his was shallow at all). I was driving around in my new car, blasting my new CD and counting my blessings; and then I woke up and thanked GOD that two of these three are part of my current reality. PRINCE DECLARES THE DEATH OF THE INTERNET
People don’t really know how revolutionary Prince is when it comes to music. He has always made sure to never get jerked when it came to being fairly paid for his creative work and he was one of the 1st, if not the 1st, major artist to embrace selling music online and specifically selling online only albums. That being said, his recent statements should cause alarm for those who intend to stay on the cusp of music entertainment and business. Read below.
“The internet’s completely over,” he explained. “I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it, and then they get angry when they can’t get it.
“The internet’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers, and that can’t be good for you.”
