Currently being announced on CP24, Caribana has been re-branded to become “Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival”. The spokesperson in summation has blamed the previous organizers of the festival for not allowing them to use the previous name and logo and winning a ruling in court to that effect. As always this festival has dramatic politics behind it but the root of today’s of nonsense forces me to ask the new sponsors; a one word name expanded to a three word name? So now we are forced to refer to it as the S.C.C in conversation? Not happy with this change, only months away from the 44th carnival.

Baby makes the cover of XXL and is hailed as the last mogul in HipHop. Do you agree? In the magazine Baby rates making Lil Wayne a label head as the wisest decision of his career. Here is a bit from the interview inside:

Ricki Ross is proving that his hustle remains a cut above by having to print magazines release their covers featuring him on the same day.
Consistency has won Ross a seat the earners table and he has been beefing up his roster. It will be interesting to see how is artists do as the majority of them remain virtually unknown outside of their cities, save Wale.
It was all smoke and mirrors last week when Cassidy was rumoured to be in jail on murder charges again. Turns out it was a parole violation and the rapper is already back on the streets and reportedly working on material. Rappers stop using arrests as publicity stunts, its sad on so many levels.
