TIME FOR HONESTY TO MAKE IT’S COMEBACK

Honesty has been losing to lies for some time and now many find it hard to discern the truth from fiction. I truly believe we all lie but we tread dangerously when we lie to ourselves and worst off believe it. How did we get here?
I was thinking of what to write for my Monday daily rant as I struggled to remove Bahamian sand (which is more like fine crushed sea shell fragments than actual sand) from my shorts as I started packing to return to the city I love and the daily grind. I thought of the time I had here, the rest and the company of old friends I was blessed with and began to think about how I arrived here. It was a last minute trip that is sure to cause some belt tightening when I get home, but why did I get on a plane again. I had been back for barely a month from my last trip and yet I was tired.
My mind shifted to work, the on again off again relationships, office politics, gossip, competition and it was instantly clear; its the incessant lying that had me drained (My previous trip was a work mission and didn’t provide the full reboot necessary). I was raised by African and Caribbean parents, both of which were not into gossip or bullsh*t, yet lately I find myself immersed in it. It is a powerful fertilizer that permeates much of the entertainment industry. I expect and can tolerate dishonesty in entertainment, it is necessary there but now it is in vogue to be a liar in day to day interaction.

Well I arrived at my decade long friend’s, 5 min away from the beach, apartment only to realize he has lightening flash internet! Back like I never left people and the fresh air, with the hot sun kissed by the summer breeze is a perfect stress free escape. Now I have seen some eye candy and found a video that embodies the search for all natural beauties. See what I am talking about below.

Newsweek has conducted a global study and the result is a ranking of the best (and consequently the worst) places for women to live in the world only bested by Ireland and Sweden. A CNN anchor was surprised to discover that America only ranked 8th on the list. Canadians feel proud, our women are represented and representing us well. God knows I love you ladies. Cheers to you and your amazingness; VERSE loves you!
