Rumor has it that the Dipset concerts are cancelled. Go get your refunds people!
I like this song and video, its a feel good single with a rare Rell feature. It looks like Jimmy may start the Dipset onslaught in 2011. Check it out, Blow Your Smoke.
Jim Jones is about to return to capo status with a newly reunited Dipset crew. Here is a snippet of things to come, Jim Jones – ‘Summertime”. Enjoy!
OK, so here is the deal, I have decided to start a “What’s Next?” series. I know I will catch heat for this when local artists are featured but it is what it is. Before we begin, understand that this is not a series meant to diss but rather its a column meant remind people about artists that are hot or were hot that need to come out with something quickly or become stale. Got it? Good. Since this is the beginning of the “What’s Next” series, you guys get a double header. The first artist up is Mr Santana. Juelz had dropped some singles and was really trying to jump off with his Def Jam situation. In my opinion, that didn’t go so well. The Chris Brown track was aight but well received by radio considering Brown was blacklisted. Let’s get to the point. Juelz is a dope artist with his own swagger and with the recent return of the Diplomats to the Hip Hop scene, now is the time for Juelz Santana to capitalize of that insanely hot feature he blessed Lloyd Banks with. The clock is ticking and Vado is gaining in popularity, Harlem needs Juelz voice.
Now, this may be touchy because the artist is on our soil and has had the streets buzzing at the height of his success but I am a real voice in a city with an industry of false well wishers – yea I said it. Richie Sosa, for a long minute the streets were calling for you drop something. Internet buzz was in full gear with viral videos and some hot street singles supported by HipHopCanada.com but with the recent rise of POPular rap and even less support of Canadian artists by commercial radio (not to mention no more Project Bounce) Sosa has struggled to maintain his presence. Richie Sosa is a dope artist but Project Bounce might of well have been 20 years ago in regard with it’s resonance with today’s youth. On the cusp of
becoming somewhat of a newer Mayhem to some, Sosa needs to release something by years end and learn to make something that commercial radio can support because P Reign is arguably taking his spot and addressing the issues that he hasn’t. Not to be one to ignore the elephant in the room, Reign also has the major asset of Drake’s cosign and a larger financial backing. It remains to be seen how far Drake will push his artist but in the meantime Richie Sosa is still within grasp of capitalizing on a buzz that has died down quite a bit but could still be revived.
Jim Jones is going hard making use of the newly reunited Diplomats crew with his new single and video “Shout Outs” featuring Sen city. Check it out and try to avoid a seizure.
I’m not sure if you heard but Dipset is officially back, and now with an exclusive that I have, I can say their sounding good. Sample for yourself below.
Dipset – Salute ft. Jim Jones, Camron & Juelz Santana
The Diplomats are getting closer and closer to a reunion album. On the Angie Martinez show Juelz Santana made this comment,
“At the end of the day I’m willing to be a big person and put whatever I got to put to the side, if the fans want an album, we could do that.”
You may have heard but if not, Miss Info has helped to reunite the Harlem brothers that started it all. Camron and Jim Jones are mending their friendship and discussing Dipset projects. Read more below.
From the words of Miss Info herself (Unedited):
Last week I had a conversation with two old friends. But what was remarkable about this wasn’t the fact that they called, or
even what we talked about….what really meant something is that, for the first time in over three years, these two guys were calling me together…
“Minya, it’s Jimmy….I’m sitting in the passenger seat of this car right now. I want you to talk to the driver real quick.”
“Ok, Jimmy.”
[brief pause] “What up, Min. It’s Cam…”
Yes!! Now we’re finally getting somewhere…Before I could start grilling them about the who/what/where/why/when….Jimmy made it very clear that he had to get something off his chest, with Cam right there…
Jim Jones said: “It’s 2010, and this is something I gotta get off my chest…You’ve known us from back when we didn’t have what we have now, so you remember, that above all, me and Cam, we still brothers. And we’re building on getting back on track but first, I apologize for being a rude brother, for saying things publicly without first trying to handle them privately. I apologize for not leading by example because what I didn’t realize at the time, I was venting but it wasn’t all about me. There were other people whose dreams were also part of this movement. So by not leading by example, they were left stranded too. The way I handled our business issues was with emotion, and it got totally f–ked up. That’s what selfishness does….”
Ric Flair is the new single from Camron’s new artist Vado. I like this, this is hood hop. This gets the hood stamp.
Santana is getting ready to recreate his buzz with his new Chris Brown assisted single. What do you think?
