IRV GOTTI SOON TO BE A DEF JAM EXEC?

Irv is cheesing heavy in the above picture it would seem with good reason, apparently he has been making moves on the low.  Rumour is that Def Jam may be hiring the one time powerful label exec.  Def Jam has steered away from it’s Hip Hop roots and with artists like The Roots and Fabolous sitting on the roster and not being pushed to their potential, the iconic label is looking for new direction.

On a separate but related note, since Sha Money XL is already in the building and tied heavily to 50 Cent their is sure to be bad blood.  Rick Ross may want to look at making some proactive moves, it might get ugly.

Apparently Ja Rule is still spending money from his Ashanti days.  Here is a report of the finances governed by Mr. Rule brought to light by Illseed (Thanks again).  Many forget he was the biggest artist on the planet during his reign.

In a 2008 networth scan, Ja Rule had a networth estimated at nearly 90 million. Ja Rule was the executive producer for his highest selling CDs to date. Ja Rule has sold 35 million records worldwide and from 2000-2002 he was the world’s fastest selling rapper and the highest paid as well. Ja Rule along with his former group, The Cash Money Click, settled with a $45 million dollar claim in the crew’s unreleased material handeled by TVT Records, Ja getting a costly $38 million of the stake. JAMAICAN SHOWER POSSE – THE MOVIE

The leader of a notorious Jamaican drug gang recently sent a message to Michael S. Lynton, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

In the video, Vivian Blake, former head of the notorious Shower Posse, urges the studio boss to hire The Inc.’s Irv Gotti to direct a bio-pic about the murderous gang.

Vivian Blake was the leader and head of the Jamaican gang, which authorities claim was responsible for over 1,400 drug-related murders.

“Mr. Michael Lynton, I am glad to have this opportunity to speak to you via videotape.  We want to talk to you about The Shower Posse movie,” Blake said on the videotape.  “I spoke with Irv Gotti, Curtis Scoon.  Irv Gotti is a young man where I think he’ll bring the best out in this movie, show the rawness of this movie.  This movie’s not just about gangsta and drug dealing, it’s about a culture that nobody has ever seen.  I have the utmost confidence in Irv Gotti, I know he can get the job done.”
