NaS drops another jewel in the vein of “I Can”. I can’t wait for his new album!
Nicki Minaj has just signed a major deal with Pepsi, making her the second Young Money artist to do so. She will be the face of a new “Pop” drink and has already shot the commercial in Argentina for it. In other Minaj news, NaS has confirmed that he is on the new Pink Friday: Roman’s Reloaded album. Hmmm.
k’naan is one of our national lyrical treasures and he has scored a major feature in that of mister Illmatic NaS! The sonf is called ‘Paid Dues’ and delivers in true K’naan fashion.
Amy supposedly has some classic material on the way. Don’t take my word hear Miss Info tell it.
Earlier today, The UK Sun broke the news on Amy Winehouse’s first posthumous album, titled Lioness: Hidden Treasures. The album is said to feature 12 unreleased songs that Amy was working on before her tragic death. From the track list, I’m especially excited to hear “Like Smoke,” her collabo with Nas, and her remake of “Girl From Ipanema.”
Her father offered some emotional words at the listening
“It wasn’t until I sat down with the rest of the family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of her talent. From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it took my breath away.”
Salaam Remi also spoke on Amy’s legacy.
“When I listened back you would hear some of the conversations in between — that was emotional. It has been hard, but it has also been an amazing thing. Amy was a gifted girl. I believe she has left something beyond her years. She has put a body of work together that will inspire an unborn generation.”
The album will be released on Dec. 5th.
Track List and The UK Sun’s brief description of each song after the jump…
You know I loved this one! NaS is back to nasty form and seems to be in rare form. This is what I have been waiting for NaS to become. The lyrical beast that he is that is comfortable with his success. He is for the first time in a long time, in his zone. The tenth album, Life Is Good is looking to be another classic. I can’t wait for more!
P.S.
Keep chosing monster beats. The oddball beats have been an achilles heel for too long.
I have to be honest, as a scorned NaS fan I am scared to get too excited but I love what I am hearing right now. Nasty Nas is back; OK wait I didn’t say that. Don’t rock the boat, don’t put pressure on him, no expectations. Do you Nas we are routing for you over here. Here is the behind the scenes for the legend.
Nasty NaS is back and talking all things Illmatic and we here at LIFE love it. In a recent interview NaS spoke on working with his old rap friends, fatherhood and baby momas. Click below for the scoop from his AOL interview.
I just returned from working on an international deal with a new mobile company in Ghana (more on that later), so I have been neglecting the blog; I know. Some things though demand attention, “Watching The Throne’ is all the talk right now but this, this sh*t right here ….. this that other sh*t!
Nothing common about this.
(AllHipHop News) Queensbridge, New York rap star Nas has announced the title of his new upcoming solo album.
The rapper took to Twitter early this morning (May 28th), to reveal the name of the album, which is titled Life is Good.
In published reports, the 37-year-old rapper said Life is Good will feature production from a variety of new producers, as well as veteran Salaam Remi and other notable producers.
Nas’ last official studio album was 2008′s Untitled release, which topped Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart.
It’s coming. Common has a song on his coming album The Dreamer, The Believer that features NaS and a snippet has already leaked. Its produced by No I.D. and frankly has any 90′s HipHop head drooling for the whole song.

Sounds classic already!
